What is CORONAVIRUS? 

Coronavirus is a type of virus that affects the respiratory tracts of birds and mammals, also including humans. The common problems from this virus are the common cold, bronchitis, pneumonia, and severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). Previously searching history over the last 70 year scientists research that coronaviruses can infect mice, rats, dogs, cats, horses, pigs, and cattle. Sometimes, these animals can pass coronaviruses to humans. Most recently a new coronavirus outbreak in China has now reached other countries and  it is called coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19.

What are the symptoms of CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19 )

In the COVID-19 virus, humans face health problems like fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, and difficulty in breathing. However, symptoms pass from person to person.

How CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) is transmitted?

  • People who are infected with coronavirus and they cough or sneeze without covering their mouth. They can disperse the virus droplets into the air.
  • Touching and handshaking with a person who is already infected with this virus.
  • Touch any surface or object that has the virus and then touch the nose, eyes, and mouth.

Protective Information

  • Regularly clean your hands with soap and water or alcohol-based products. It kills viruses that may be on your hands.
  • If you find anyone coughing and sneezing nearby you keep a distance at least 3 feet.
  • Avoid touching your face, nose, and eyes.
  • Make sure you and other people around you follow good respiratory hygiene.
  • If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing go to the doctor and follow instructions and also stay home if you feel unwell.

World Health Organization advises these basic protective measures to deal with CORONAVIRUS COVID-19:

  1. Wash your hands regularly and frequently.
  2. Maintain social distancing of at least 3 feet between people. In general, avoid crowded places.
  3. Avoiding the touching of eyes, nose, and mouth with your hands.
  4. Practice good respiratory hygiene by properly covering your nose and mouth with a tissue or napkin or bent elbow while coughing or sneezing.
  5. Visit the doctor if you experience any of these symptoms like - difficulty in breathing, fever or cough. You are advised to stay at home if you are feeling unwell.
  6. Do not panic and stay informed. The best way is to follow the advice of your caregiver and health center.
